LS-Swapped Rear-Engine 1986 Toyota Pickup
This 1986 Toyota pickup, built by Matt Frater, features a rear-mounted, de-stroked LS engine paired with a Porsche Boxster S transaxle and dual turbos. The custom tube chassis and C5 Corvette-based suspension system highlight the engineering detail. The engine utilizes a 5.3-liter aluminum LS block, reduced to 4.8-liters for high revving potential, complemented by VS Racing 62mm turbos and managed by a Holley Terminator X Max. The truck is designed for balance and performance, achieving symmetry in weight distribution and winning its class at LS Fest Texas.
