Vochol: Huichol Beadwork Volkswagen Beetle
The Vochol is a unique Volkswagen Beetle adorned with traditional Huichol beadwork, showcasing the cultural richness and artistic skills of the Huichol people. The design was meticulously crafted by eight artisans from the Bautista and Ortiz families, who used 2,277,000 beads over 4,760 hours. This vibrant work, completed in December 2010, features representations of Huichol deities, cultural symbols, and commemorative phrases for Mexican Independence and Revolution history. The Vochol continues to be displayed globally, bringing attention to this intricate art form.
