1960 Austin-Healey Sprite "AWDstin Meanie" by Design Craft Fabrications
Design Craft Fabrications, led by Gary Castillo, created the "AWDstin Meanie," a restomod 1960 Austin-Healey Sprite MK I that features a turbocharged Honda K20A engine. Originally envisioned as a rear-wheel-drive build, the project evolved into an all-wheel-drive configuration upon the owner's request. To achieve this, a longitudinally mounted '06 Honda Civic 6-speed transmission was used. The build involved extensive modifications, including custom chromoly driveshafts, Nissan R32 GTR differentials, and a fully re-engineered suspension system with Suzuki RM125 and Honda CR50 coilovers. The engine includes forged JE pistons, K1 rods, and a Garrett GT3076 turbocharger, making this a unique yet powerful interpretation of a classic British roadster.
