1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible "Superteen" by George Barris
This 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible was modified by the renowned automotive customizer George Barris for the 1968 Superteen talent contest. It is one of only three examples and features distinctive Barris modifications, including faux side pipes, rear brake cooling ducts, lengthened hood scoops, a reshaped front fascia and fenders, a rear wing, front and rear bumperettes, and silver metallic paint with red, white, and blue stripes. Power comes from a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car includes teal vinyl upholstery, a power-operated black convertible top, power steering, front disc brakes, and 14" alloy wheels with Hurst center caps. A Barris Kustom Industries Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the car.
