602hp Ford Mustang LX Coupe with Holley Two-Barrel Carburetor
Kevin McCotter's Mustang LX Coupe, showcased at the 2021 Holley NMRA Intergalactic Ford Fest, features a unique engine setup centered around a vintage 1968 302 block. The engine, expanded to 331 cubic inches with a Callies stroker crank, includes Dart Profiler heads and a modified Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold. The standout component is the rare Holley Two-Barrel Split Dominator carburetor, typically seen on Mountain Motor Pro Stock engines, now adapted for this small-block Fox body. The vehicle is equipped with a Ford C-4 automatic transmission, 8.8 rear with 4.30 gears, and tips the scale at 3,200 pounds. Additional features include a dry-sump oil system, aftermarket wheels, cowl hood, and a basic interior with NHRA-legal safety gear. The car achieves 602 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, reaching 10.40s at 129 mph in the quarter-mile.
