1955 Chevy 6500 Series Crew Cab by Pure Metal Works
Dan Smalley of Pure Metal Works created a distinctive 1955 Chevy Crew Cab with a twin-turbo diesel setup. Based on a rare crew cab configuration from the 1955-1959 Chevy trucks, this build features a custom chassis developed in collaboration with GSI Machine & Fabrication. The powertrain centers around an LBZ Duramax Diesel engine, fitted with HSP Diesel components like a billet intake and paired with Garrett GTX3076R turbos. The transmission is a custom-built Allison, and it features a robust cooling system by C&R Racing. The exterior is highlighted by Raceline Wheels (22x10 front, 24x15 rear) and Pirelli tires, while custom fabrication includes a recessed firewall and flared bed. The vehicle debuted at SEMA 2019, showcasing the dedication of Dan and his team in overcoming challenges to complete this unique project.
