1988 Ford Mustang SSP 5.0 by Matt Farah
This 1988 Ford Mustang LX SSP was originally used by the California Highway Patrol and has since been extensively modified by Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire. The car features wide-body fenders and a Saleen front air dam, with a repaint in black. It is powered by a 302ci Ford Racing V8 crate engine paired with a Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission and a Torsen T2 differential. The rear suspension has been converted to independent using parts from a 2004 Cobra, and it features Cobra disc brakes and Delrin suspension bushings. The interior includes custom Recaro seats, Sabelt 6-point harnesses, and a Momo steering wheel. Notable mods include HRE 18” wheels, Maximum Motorsports components, and a Cool Shirt cooling system.
