Ford Capri by James Meredith
James Meredith's Ford Capri is a unique blend of old-school cool with modern performance in a drag racing context. After dominating the 2016 NMRA Factory Stock championship with his Coyote-powered 2003 Mach 1, Meredith transitioned into something more distinctive—a Capri chassis. Rescued from Powerhouse Automotive in Pennsylvania, this Capri was outfitted with the Gen I Coyote engine from his championship car. Enhanced with upgraded camshafts, a Holley EFI system, a built C4 transmission, and a Nitrous Outlet dry nitrous system, the car achieves impressive quarter-mile times of 9.15 seconds at over 145 mph. Retaining its original 1977 paint and rust, the Capri employs Menscer Motorsports/AFCO Racing shocks and Caltracs bars to modify the stock suspension for competitive performance.
