Toyota Corolla AE86 by Robbie Durant
Robbie Durant embarked on a mission to build a unique AE86 Corolla with the capability to take on various motorsport disciplines. With a foundation strongly influenced by his time in the automotive industry and the expertise of his friends with motorsport experience, the AE86 evolved into a highly capable platform. Starting from a European-model Corolla, the build deviated significantly from the original plan when Durant came across an exceptional AE86 shell. This new platform, already enhanced with Nissan S14 pickup points and a full roll cage, became the core of his project. Durant's Corolla is distinguished by a Honda S2000 F20C engine, Jenvey throttle bodies, and Öhlins DFV coilovers, ensuring exceptional performance on track. The modifications extend to include Braid Motorsport Maxlight wheels, a custom Motec electronic suite, and a host of bespoke 3D-printed parts. With its transformed architecture, custom suspension components, and meticulous attention to detail, this AE86 is a fusion of creativity and performance, built not as a showpiece, but as an actively used track machine.
