400hp 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II Salt Racer
This black 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II, owned by Mike Callahan, showcases a powerful transformation aimed at high-speed runs at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Originally equipped with a 351 Windsor, it now features a 351 Cleveland engine boosting around 400 rear-wheel horsepower. Modifications include a Holley 850 CFM double pumper carburetor, QA1 adjustable shocks, and a Ford 9-inch rear end with a Detroit Locker. Additional changes like a full roll cage, belly pan, and polycarbonate windows are preparing it for the 200 mph target. Callahan continues to refine it for both street and speed exploits, having already hit 165 mph.
