Mazda RX-7 by Chris Johnston
Chris Johnston's Mazda RX-7, a project 14 years in the making, showcases a dedication to performance and aesthetics through a variety of modifications. Starting its life in less-than-ideal condition as a Montego Blue automatic, the RX-7 has been transformed into a track-focused machine with RE Amemiya and R Magic styling influences. The car features a striking Sunburst Yellow paint, originally a factory color on special editions. Johnston's dedication to the RX-7 platform is evidenced by the extensive array of modifications, including a refreshed 13B REW engine with a half bridge port configuration, supported by a Borg Warner EFR 8374 EWG turbo for significant power gains. Complemented by a range of parts from brands like Seibon, Esprit, Project Mu, and Volk Racing, the RX-7 boasts a competitive edge. The build culminated in its debut at the 2021 SEMA Show, where it drew attention and achieved a place in an exclusive poster series for dedicated automotive enthusiasts.
