Chevrolet Monza Race Car by Pat Stair
This Chevrolet Monza race car, built by Pat Stair and driven by Carl Shafer, competed in the IMSA Camel GT and SCCA Trans Am series from 1980 to 1986. It features a replacement 358ci V8 engine built by Automotive Specialists Racing Engines, connected to a T-10 four-speed manual transmission. Notable features include a red and yellow #21 livery, widened bodywork, a vented cowl induction hood, a rear spoiler, and Avon racing slicks on multi-piece 16” wheels. The car underwent a six-year refurbishment, during which the body, chassis, and several components were stripped, repaired, and refinished. Additional modifications include adjustable coilovers, custom exhaust, Wilwood brakes, and an MSD ignition system.
