Stanced Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1
Klaas van Schaijk's 1983 Volkswagen Golf GTI is a meticulously crafted build, heavily inspired by the camaraderie and passion of the VW Team Brabant. Originally found stored in a barn, this MK1 Golf GTI now boasts modern performance features. The original engine was replaced with a TFSI engine from a MKV GTI, paired with an MHI 19T turbocharger and managed by KMS Kronenberg engine management. The power is delivered through a VW Corrado G60 drivetrain, with custom manifolds and a Powersprint muffler handling the engine's breathing. Fitting such a modern setup required modifications and air suspension from Jeroen Leenders to ensure optimal stance and performance. The vehicle rides on BBS Motorsport E50 wheels wrapped in Nankang Ultra Sport NS tires. The distinctive Rubino Red paint by Ricky vd Hanenberg complements the exterior, which also features Wobshop headlights, KM Works side mirrors, and chromed metal bumpers. Inside, the car is outfitted with reupholstered Porsche seats, custom interior work, and a Becker ‘Mexico’ radio, creating a perfect blend of vintage and modern style.
