450hp Volvo-Powered BMW E30 Hill Climb Car
Based in Norway, Jacobsen Motorsport has transformed a classic BMW E30 into a hill climb contender by swapping in a turbocharged two-liter inline four-cylinder Volvo engine. This engine, often found in Volvo models like the XC90, has been tuned to produce around 450 horsepower, far surpassing the original E30 M3’s performance. The power is delivered through a Sellholm six-speed sequential racing gearbox complemented by a fully modified chassis with an aggressive lowered suspension and disc brakes. The stripped interior features a single bucket seat, a six-point harness, and a roll cage, making it adept for various racing conditions, including the Lillehammer HillClimb event.
